We’ve compared it with other industry-leading AI voice generators based on pricing, features, pros and cons to understand how it measures up to the competition.

This review of Lovo AI will help you determine whether this is the right tool for you—let’s get into it.

What is Lovo AI Used for?

Lovo AI offers Genny, an all-in-one tool for generating voice, imagery, and subtitles using artificial intelligence. Users can create voice clones based on their own voices or choose from 500+ voices in 100+ languages.

Lovo’s AI-generated voice content can be used for various use cases, including YouTube videos, social media, audiobooks, podcast episodes, and how-to explanations. While Lovo AI generates the audio content, you’ll fully own the rights, so you can also use it for commercial purposes.

Lovo AI Pricing

Lovo AI offers four pricing tiers: Basic, Pro, Pro+, and Enterprise. While there is no free plan available, it does offer a free trial of the Pro plan. Below, we’ve outlined what each plan includes:

Starting Price Voice Generation Templates Plagiarism Checker Art Generator Voice Cloning Brand Voices Languages Integrations

For $24 per month, you can access Lovo’s Basic plan, which gives you two hours of voice generation per month and a choice of 500+ international voices, plus five cloned voices. It’s slightly more expensive than competitor AI voice and audio platform Synthesia ($22 per month), but Lovo offers voice cloning while Synthesia does not.

The Pro plan offers five hours of voice generation per month, additional voices to choose from, 100GB of storage, plus unlimited voice cloning. You can try this plan for 14 days for free.

Lovo AI Key Features

Lovo AI’s platform, Genny, offers a range of features that support the generation of audiovisual content. From writing scripts to recording voice overs and generating subtitles, Genny can be used at all stages of the production process.

Text to Voice GenerationVoice CloningAI Script WriterSubtitle GeneratorAI Art GeneratorEditing Platform

Lovo AI is best known for its text-to-speech (TTS) generation. It joins several other AI speech-generation tools on the market, such as Murf AI and ElevenLabs. Within Genny, you can create ‘voice blocks,’ which are chunks of text that can be edited before you generate the speech file to add to your video.

You can choose from over 500 AI voices based on language, accent, gender, and age. This allows you to generate amazing, natural voices without the need to hire your own professional voice actors.

If you want to use your own voice, or a voice that is not represented by the pre-made AI voices, you can ‘clone’ your voice. You can upload audio files of your voice or record new clips for the system to mimic.

OpenAI delayed the release of its voice clone tool due to safety concerns that the voices sound incredibly realistic. However, we aren’t sure that is a concern with Genny’s clone tool. It wasn’t great at discerning American vs. British-English accents, and we found it was notably more robotic than our real voices.

While some TTS tools only work with existing texts, Genny can also help you write a script with a native ChatGPT AI writer tool. From the Pro plan and up, you can choose from a range of templates, including podcast episodes, YouTube videos, voiceovers, and more.

Genny will then ask you for some contextual information, such as what you want to write about, who your audience is, and the desired tone of the writing. It will then create a piece of text according to your instructions.

For a tool that isn’t predominantly focused on writing, we were impressed with how quickly the tool created a usable result since other AI copywriting tools take multiple attempts to even create something that makes sense.

Genny also offers subtitle generation to complete your videos and we were pleased with how quick and easy this feature was to use. It takes your ‘voice blocks’ and translates them into subtitles.

You’re able to edit the font, color, and style of the subtitles, as well as resize and reposition them on the video. The subtitles are split into speech fragments rather than sentences, which doesn’t make for a very seamless reading experience. Although it is possible to manually edit this according to your preference.

Genny also works as an art generator, so you can add imagery to your videos, again from the Pro plan and up. You simply write a prompt for the tool to follow and select a style from the eight options, and it’ll create an image according to your instructions.

Even some of the best AI art generators don’t offer accurate photorealistic generations, but we found the more artistic, abstract settings to be more successful.

Bringing it all together, Genny offers a video editing platform with a familiar interface reminiscent of Final Cut Pro or Windows Movie Maker. This is nice because it feels intuitive, plus the tool is much more user-friendly than a real video editor and is perfect for quickly creating videos for social media.

There are far fewer editing features, but they’re enough to combine the elements you’ve created within Genny, edit the clip lengths, move around the audio, and quickly produce a final result without much of a learning curve.

Lovo AI Performance

When testing the Lovo AI’s Genny, I liked the range of human like voices and found the script writer to be an efficient tool that works well with templates while accurately interpreting prompts. This allowed me to generate usable text without spending a lot of time using another platform.

Genny’s overall feel and interface are user-friendly and intuitive, mimicking a typical video editing platform style. The features are also well-organized, and I felt it was easy to use the platform to its fullest potential without having to consult a help guide.

The TTS feature works quickly and accurately, and I liked the diversity of voices on offer. The voice clone feature is nifty, but unfortunately, it wasn’t very successful in distinguishing a British accent from an American one.

I spent time recording and submitting audio files for it to use, but did find the voice sounded generic and robotic. The preset options helped create a more natural-sounding voice that was more human-like, but they were still recognizably AI-generated.

Lovo AI Integrations

Lovo does not advertise any third-party integrations and we could not find them while trialing the Genny tool.

Since it’s not predominantly an AI writing tool, I didn’t expect it to offer a Chrome browser extension like Grammarly or QuillBot. However, I found that its closest competitor, Murf, does offer integrations with Google, Microsoft, Canva, and Adobe.

So, it would benefit Lovo to add this feature in the future. That being said, Lovo does offer an open API and API support on its Enterprise plan, so it is possible to integrate it with your existing tools.

Lovo AI vs Top Competitors

Now that we’ve seen what Lovo offers, let’s compare it to some of the other top AI tools on the market.

Best For Starting Price (Billed Annually) Free Version Built-In Plagiarism Checker Top 3 Features
Lovo AI All-in-one video production $24/month Video editing, Art generator, Text-to-speech
Murf AI In-depth editing of TTS $23/month Audio & video templates, Voice emphasis control, Tones of voice
ElevenLabs Free custom voices $5/month Professional voice cloning, Generous free trial,
ClosersCopy Marketing and sales copy $49.99/month SEO tools, 700+ templates, In-house AI
Rytr Affordable copywriting $7.50/month Keyword generation, Outlines, Rewriting
Jasper AI AI co-pilot for creating marketing content $39/month Copywriting, Brand voice adherence, & SurferSEO integration

Lovo vs Murf

Lovo and Murf are both AI-powered text-to-speech (TTS) generators with slightly different offerings. Lovo’s Genny platform is a multimedia content generator, meaning it can create scripts, TTS, voice clones, art, and subtitles — all with the goal of creating audiovisual content that’s post-ready.

Murf is a voice-focused platform. It offers TTS, dubbing, voice cloning, and translation. Its services are a little more sophisticated than Genny, and I found it offers a better degree of control over the voice quality and output, which resulted in natural-sounding voices.

To use its voice cloning feature, you’ll need to contact the sales team directly. With Genny, you can already experiment with voice cloning on the free trial, which was a neat touch.

Genny only offers a trial before you have to subscribe to a paid plan. Murf offers a free forever plan that includes two projects and 10 minutes of voice generation.

Lovo vs ElevenLabs

ElevenLabs is another AI voice generation tool that can be compared with Lovo’s Genny platform. Like Murf, it focuses on speech-related AI generation and offers TTS, speech-to-speech, dubbing, and voice cloning. However, unlike Genny, it doesn’t offer writing help, subtitles, or art generation.

The biggest plus with ElevenLabs is that it’s budget-friendly. It offers a generous free forever plan that allows you to translate content with automatic dubbing and make custom voices.

Its paid plans start from $1 per month for the first month, which lets you experiment with voice cloning. It also offers ‘professional voice cloning,’ which may produce better results than Lovo’s hit-and-miss cloning. That being said, Lovo’s voice cloning is unlimited, while ElevenLabs offers 30 uses per month.

Lovo vs Jasper AI

Lovo and Jasper are pretty different tools with different features. As explained, Lovo’s Genny tool is a TTS, art generation, subtitle generation, and voice cloning platform while Jasper is a copywriting tool.

In addition to writing, Jasper AI offers multimedia capabilities since its acquisition of the image generator, Clipdrop. Jasper helps with a diverse range of writing tasks, integrates with Chrome and Grammarly, and offers plagiarism detection.

Genny offers writing features, but I found that these are not as in-depth as Jasper’s. Genny doesn’t include plagiarism detection or a broad range of editing capabilities.

That being said, Jasper lacks many valuable features that Genny boasts, such as TTS, video editing, and subtitle generation. Overall, while there are similar features, they aren’t direct competitors, and both serve different purposes.

Lovo AI Customer Reviews

Reviews of Lovo AI’s Genny tool are generally mixed. It scores a low score of 2.3/5 on Trustpilot but collects more favorable ratings of 4.5 on average on other independent user review sites.

Based on user reviews, Genny’s main positive was the natural voice quality of the AI-generated voices. Reviewers were also impressed with the range and quality of the voices available, especially given that Lovo supports multiple languages.

“I’ve used many Text To Speech (TTS) services and found most rely on technology/voices from Google, Microsoft or IBM. The voices provided by these companies are quite good however it still sounds too robotic.

This is what makes LOVO special. The voices provided on their service is ultra realistic and there’s hundreds to choose from. The UI is simple to use and the product continually gets updated. From my understanding they use their own technology/voice database.” (sic)

User review collected from Trustpilot.

The negative reviews pointed to a lack of in-depth editing features for the AI voices, such as tweaking the emphasis, which resulted in robotic or flat-sounding results. As Genny is a newer iteration of the software, we suspect improvements have been made since these reviews.

How We Review And Test AI Tools

We base our recommendations on first-hand testing. All the products we feature, have been tested based on the following criteria:

  • Accuracy: The accuracy of every AI tool varies and is largely dependent on the AI model used and the quality of the input. We test each tool to gauge its accuracy across the tasks and use cases it supports.
  • Performance: We also test how long it takes the AI tool to deliver results and weigh this time against the quality of the output. Quick results mean nothing if the output isn’t accurate, relevant, or what you expected.
  • Ethical Considerations: We explore any issues with bias, transparency, and privacy to ensure we recommend only the best artificial intelligence solutions that take these ethical concerns seriously.
  • User Experience: We test every AI tool on all the supported platforms to gauge its user-friendliness and whether it works as advertised. We also explore any online documentation available.
  • Value for Money: We weigh the features, performance, and accuracy of the market’s best AI tools against their cost to determine their value for money. We also factor in the cost to scale with the platform.
  • Features: We test every feature on offer with the service over a two-week period. This includes testing their functionality (whether it’s art generation, or voiceovers, for example) across all the platforms the tool supports.
  • Security: From data privacy to ensuring the tools haven’t had a data breach, we take security seriously, checking their regulatory compliance and how vulnerable the AI models are to exploitation.

How to Choose the Best AI Tool

We know that searching for the right AI tool can be difficult, especially when there are so many options out there. To make a well-informed decision, it’s important to factor in these points:

SuitabilityAccuracy and PerformanceCustomizationEase of UseSecurityPrice and ScalabilityFeatures

Consider whether the tool meets your specific needs and objectives. Are you looking for a script writer, art generator, or voice cloning tool?

Not all AI tools produce high-quality content; some can be unreliable or completely nonsensical. Read reviews to understand how other users feel about its performance.

Look for customization and integration options because tools that work alongside your existing software can save you time. If you have coding experience, you can also check for API access.

If an AI tool isn’t user-friendly, it may be tough to maximize its potential. If there’s a free trial or plan, this is a great way to test it out before signing up.

When working with sensitive information, security features are crucial when using AI tools. Look for a provider with robust security measures like data encryption, access control, and compliance with standards such as GDPR or HIPAA.

Does the tool offer good value for money or, preferably, is there a free option available? It’s important to consider how well it can grow with your demands over time without becoming extortionately expensive.

Examine the specific features offered by each pricing tier of the platform to ensure it offers the tools you need to achieve your goals.
