Visual InterDev

Last updated: November 3, 2011

What Does Visual InterDev Mean?

Visual InterDev was a Microsoft IDE used to build dynamic websites using Active Server Pages (ASP). The Visual Interdev interface is very similar to the Visual Basic environment and was included as part Visual Studio 97.

Techopedia Explains Visual InterDev

ASP is now an obsolete technology, replaced with ASP.NET. As such, Interdev is also obsolete. A Microsoft shop would use Visual Studio as its IDE. While theoretically there might be some of this still out there, you'd never start a new project with this tool.
