What Does Lotus Notes Mean?

Lotus Notes is a brand of groupware that is now owned by IBM. Lotus Notes is used with a variety of local and collaborative server applications, including email, calendars, personal information managers (PIM) and the Web.

Developed in the 1970s, early versions of Lotus Notes were threaded discussions used to facilitate contact database management. Recent versions have RSS aggregators, help desk systems, wikis, customer relationship management (CRM) tools and blogging. The Domino Designer Client may be used for custom application development.
