What Does Personal Java Mean?
Personal Java (PJ) is a mobile version of Java based on Java 1.1.8. Because it never gained widespread popularity, Personal Java has been replaced by Personal Profile – a connected device configuration not yet fully deployed. PJ is a software development platform designed to write applications for various consumer devices, including mobile devices and televisions.
Techopedia Explains Personal Java
Personal Java provided consumer devices with a basic virtual Java machine. Be Incorporated made their operating system (BeOS) compliant with Personal Java by creating a diminished version called BeIA (also called Beia). Be claims superiority to other similar software because BeIA is compliant with Flash, Real Java and Personal Java, making BeIA a complete product.
