What Does Trojan Popureb Mean?

The Trojan Popureb is a type of Trojan virus designed to infiltrate a Windows XP machine and target its Master Boot Record (MBR). After gaining access, it plants a code into the MBR that goes undetected by the antivirus software and operating system (OS).

The Popureb E removal tool halts the malicious low level hook on the disk miniport driver. This restores its functionality and overrides the infected MBR to repair the original MBR, essentially deleting the virus. An administrator account is required to run this tool.
