Variety is geared toward providing different techniques for resolving and managing data variety within big data, such as:

  • Indexing techniques for relating data with different and incompatible types
  • Data profiling to find interrelationships and abnormalities between data sources
  • Importing data into universally accepted and usable formats, such as Extensible Markup Language (XML)
  • Metadata management to achieve contextual data consistency
