Google Glass is a controversial type of technology, one that significantly shifts the interaction of lifestyle and technology. Some critics argue that Google Glass can have an extremely negative impact on some aspects of human life.

As well, the tongue-in-cheek term also refers to the tech elites who were given early access to the technology. In this way, being part of the Glasserati can be interpreted as being one of the lucky few, or a geek part of Google’s big experiment.
