The streamlined design of the mouse and its rubber coating adds to the comfort of the mouse and prevents the mouse from getting dirty.

One of the few immediate downsides to this mouse is that it can take a while to get used to, particularly if you’ve never used a vertical mouse before. While the mouse does have a slight learning curve, it’s worth noting that it is available in small, medium and large, so you can select the size that best suits your preference.

As for functionality, the Perixx Perimice 713N has a six-button design, and each button is within easy reach. The mouse has three DPI settings 1000, 1600 and 2000, so while the mouse’s performance is sharp, it’s not the best option for gamers looking for a gaming mouse with higher sensitivity levels.

Keep in mind that while connected through Bluetooth, the mouse also offers a 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity option that is better suited to gaming. The battery life will be less if you use this option, typically around 80 hours.

The mouse is equipped with an 18,000 DPI sensor and 400 IPS, so it’s a mouse that’s well suited to pro and hardcore gamers.

The mouse features nine programmable buttons. These buttons contain five quick action side buttons, including a unique up/down flick switch that helps perform in-game actions quickly and efficiently. In addition to all of this, the mouse is water-resistant, so it’s protected from any leaks or spills.

Just be aware that the lightweight design of the mouse can leave it feeling a little fragile, which can be an issue if you’re regularly playing intense, fast-paced games. The potential confusion around battery life should also be noted. SteelSeries makes it clear that the battery will last 180 hours through Bluetooth but doesn’t make it particularly clear that it won’t last this long through wireless connectivity.

Another SteelSeries mouse to consider is the Rival 600. The mouse is relatively large, so it’s well suited to gamers with medium to larger hands, measuring 131 mm long and 62 mm wide at the front. It weighs 96 g without the cable, and this is customisable up to 128 g. On the side of the mouse, you’ll notice rubber side grips that help to provide your hand with extra comfort.

The mouse has a premium look to it, which is something we particularly like. The matte black finish to the top of the mouse gives it a nice look, and the soft touch material doesn’t seem to attract finger or handprints.

The Rival 600 features two sensors, one for traditional movement and a second that detects when the mouse lifts off a surface.

These sensors allow users to adjust the mouse’s sensitivity. The DPI sensor goes up to 12,000, which is respectable, although not as high as other gaming mice we’ve looked at.
