Marvel Rivals Season 1 New Heroes
In Season 1 – Eternal Night Falls, four new Marvel Rivals characters will be introduced. Among the Fantastic Four, Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman will be available in the first half, and Human Torch and The Thing will be released in the second half.
Mister Fantastic
Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic, will be a duelist with 350 base health.
Attack | Description |
---|---|
Stretch Punch (Basic Attack) | Stretch out a forward punch to attack enemies. |
Distended Grip | Extend arms forward to entangle a target, then press (attack) to select an additional enemy and yank the two together. |
Reflexive Rubber | Stretch the body to absorb damage before launching it all back as a projectile in the targeted direction. |
Flexible Elongation | Select a target and dash at it, damaging enemies and granting bonus health to allies. |
Elastic Strength (Passive) |
Skills generate Elasticity, boosting attack power. Reaching full Elasticity triggers an Inflated state that restores health and boosts even more damage. |
Brainiac Bounce (Ultimate) |
Leap and smash the ground, knocking back enemies within range. Upon hitting an enemy, leap again up to six times. |
Invisible Woman
Susan Storm, also known as the Invisible Woman, will be a strategist with 250 base health.
Attack | Description |
---|---|
Orb Projection (Basic Attack) |
Launch a force field that can pierce heroes, flying to the maximum distance before returning to Invisible Woman, damaging enemies, and healing teammates. |
Guardian Shield | Generate a force field in front of a selected ally. The shield can block damage and provide healing over time to nearby allies. Enemies that pass through the shield are slowed. |
Psionic Vortex | Gather psionic energy and cast it. Upon hitting a target or being activated, it erupts into a psionic vortex, continuously drawing in enemies and causing damage |
Force Physics | Manipulate psionic energy to create a tunnel that pushes or pulls enemies in front of you. |
Agile Strike (Melee) |
Release a three-hit combo; the third attack will launch up enemies in front. |
Veiled Step (Jump) |
Generate a force field at your feet; stepping on it propels you into an Invisible state. |
Covert Advance (Passive) |

Fantastic-Force (Team-Up Ability) |
The Invisible Woman taps into her powers, channeling Psionic Might to fortify the entire Fantastic Four team. This formidable force bolsters Mister Fantastic, granting damage resistance. Once activated, they can continually generate bonus health, making up for lost health with each passing moment. |
Marvel Rivals Season 1 New Game Modes
Doom Match is the brand new mode that will be released across all Marvel Rivals platforms in Season 1. It’s a team deathmatch mode where factions of 8-12 players fight to score the most eliminations.
Contrary to the standard game modes, points are allocated to individual players rather than the whole team. Once the match concludes, the top 50% of the lobby is crowned the winners, regardless of which they were on.
Think of it like a team-based free-for-all, where you’re competing against both the enemy and your own allies.
Sanctum Santorum is set to be the first map for this game mode. The Dev Vision Blog, Vol. 03, provides more details about the map and mode.
Marvel Rivals New Events

What Else is New in Marvel Rivals Season 1?
Several Marvel Rivals changes will be coming in the new season, including character balancing, rank updates, skins, and more.
Balance Changes
Buffs and nerfs will be applied across the playable roster. Some of these changes will undoubtedly change which heroes you should play in Marvel Rivals.
Most Significant Marvel Rivals Changes in Season 1
Characters frequently score high in most Marvel Rivals tier lists, and Hawkeye and Hela will be receiving nerfs. Most notably, there was a damage reduction from 20% to 15% for their respective team-up bonuses.
Lower-tier characters more suited to dive compositions, such as Venom and Captain America, will see several buffs to their kit – including more powerful ultimates.
Jeff the Land Shark has been terrorizing Quickplay with his ultimate, which will now be fine-tuned to have a smaller and more accurate effective range.
The Season 1 balance post explains the character changes in more detail.
Rank Reset
The competitive mode makes up a large part of Marvel Rivals gameplay. When the new season begins, players will drop seven divisions (for example, Platinum 1 will be dropped to Silver 2).
In addition, a new rank will be added at the higher end of the competitive ladder: Celestial. The rank features three divisions, and it will be between the Grandmaster and Eternity.
New Character Skins
Players will be able to acquire the epic-tier Malice skin for Invisible Woman. The skin will be available in the store for 1600 units. A Tweet from the Marvel Rivals account goes into more depth.
Players can also acquire The Maker for Mister Fantastic when Season 1 approaches. The epic tier skin will be available in the shop for 1600 units. Find out more in the tweet by Marvel Rivals.
The Bottom Line
The Marvel Rivals Season 1 release date is set for January 10, 2025. The new season will be split into two parts, with each half releasing members of the Fantastic Four. Doom Match is the brand new game mode set in the Sanctum Santorum and comes with an extensive list of balance updates.
There will be three new Marvel Rivals maps set in New York as players seek to end Dracula’s eternal night. The new battle pass features twice as much content as before, and new skins for both Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman will be available.
