Amazon Music revealed its AI-powered Topics feature, which makes it easier to find new podcasts related to your interests
AI and human reviewers analyze podcast descriptions and transcripts to identify topics covered in an episode and suggest relevant topic tags. These tags will suggest other episodes covering the same or similar relevant topics, such as true crime or science.
Amazon Music subscribers should see related Topics tags beneath the episode description on popular podcast episode pages. Tapping the Topics tag brings up a list of episodes covering that specific subject, so listeners can discover related content around topics they’re interested in.
How to Discover New Podcasts with Topics
To use the new Topics feature, just follow the below steps:
- Ensure you have the latest version of the Amazon Music app installed on your Android or iOS device.
- From the Amazon Music homescreen, tap Podcasts.
- Choose a top podcast, such as This American Life.
- Tap on a specific episode and find the Topics tag button under the episode description.
- Tap on a Topics tag to bring up a list of related podcast episodes on the same topic.
Topics will initially roll out across Amazon Music’s most popular podcasts but will expand to more content over time, with the number of topics increasing and recommendations for related content improving as the feature develops.
There’s no word yet on if or when this feature will roll out to other territories.
