AMD may soon expand its Radeon RDNA 3 graphics card lineup with two new budget-friendly options: the RX 7400 and RX 7300.
These cards are expected to be priced below the RX 7600, which currently retails around $259 and is regarded as one of the best budget GPUs available.
The speculation comes from tech leaker KOMACHI_ENSAKA, who mentioned the two models on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, along with a device ID linked to the Navi 33 GPU, the same chip used in the RX 7600. This suggests that the new cards could share some architectural similarities with their higher-end counterparts.
While specific details about the RX 7400 and RX 7300 remain scarce, analysts speculate that the RX 7400 could feature around 1,024 to 1,536 stream processors, while the RX 7300 might have between 640 and 896. This would position them as significant upgrades over previous generation cards like the RX 6500 XT and RX 6400, which have lower core counts.
The demand for budget GPUs is evident, as many gamers still rely on older models like the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, which lacks modern features such as ray tracing. The introduction of the RX 7400 and RX 7300 could fill a gap in AMD’s current offerings, providing affordable options for gamers on a tight budget.
If AMD successfully prices these new cards between $175 and $199, they could become attractive alternatives in the market, especially as competition in the ultra-low-end segment has diminished over the last few years. As the gaming landscape evolves, the potential launch of these entry-level GPUs could significantly impact budget gaming builds.
