Apple’s Potential Foldable MacBook: New Details Leak

Last month, Techopedia reported that a foldable Apple MacBook could be in the works. Now, there is more clarity around this device and specs.

Latest leaks suggest the foldable MacBook could boast a display size of about 18.8-inch screen.

This information comes on the heels of a prediction by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who suggests that a MacBook with a foldable screen of either 18.8 inches or 20.2 inches could hit the market in 2026.

The foldable MacBook could feature an all-screen design complemented by a virtual keyboard. The design specifics are yet to be confirmed. Still, when folded, the size of the 18.8-inch MacBook would be similar to a conventional 13-inch or 14-inch laptop.

In a post on Medium, Kuo suggests that while Apple aims to create a foldable screen that is as seamless as possible, this move could potentially result in a price tag similar to Apple’s Vision Pro headset. It was priced at $3,500 at launch. Kuo adds that the foldable MacBook is expected to be powered by Apple’s M5 chip, a processor reportedly being developed by Apple.

While Kuo and Uber Media’s post on X all allude to a possible 20-inch for the foldable MacBook, Ross Young, a display industry expert, anticipates the device to feature an 18.76-inch screen instead of a 20.25-inch due to cost considerations. He clarified this on a post only available to subscribed X users.
