Atlus, renowned for titles like Persona and Shin Megami Tensei, will release its newest RPG, Metaphor: ReFantazio, on October 11.
This highly anticipated game promises to bring a fresh twist to the classic Atlus RPG formula. It features a dark fantasy world and innovative gameplay elements.
According to an official Atlus post on X (formerly Twitter) yesterday, the game will be available on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store.
Pricing details vary by region, with the Western standard edition priced at $69.99 and the Collector’s Edition at $149.99. The latter includes an array of physical and digital bonuses, from a SteelBook and official soundtrack to exclusive DLC vouchers and merchandise.
In Japan, pricing ranges from 9,878 yen ($63.80) for the standard edition to 18,480 yen ($119.36) for the special “ATLUS Brand 35th Anniversary Edition.” An exclusive digital anniversary edition will also be available for 15,510 yen ($100.18).
Pre-orders come with bonus downloadable content, such as the “Archetype EXP Chest Set” and the “Adventurer’s Journey Pack,” offering in-game currency and valuable items to enhance your journey through this new fantasy world.
Metaphor: ReFantazio departs from Atlus’s established franchises. It introduces players to a new IP developed by a team with experience crafting beloved RPGs. The game promises an immersive experience, blending elements of dark fantasy, intricate storytelling, and engaging gameplay mechanics.
Atlus accompanied the release date announcement with a comprehensive showcase featuring gameplay footage that delves into the game’s story, combat system, and daily life sim elements reminiscent of the Persona series.
The new trailer provides a glimpse into the protagonist’s journey alongside their fairy companion, Gallica, as they strive to lift a curse from the kingdom’s lost prince.
