The upcoming release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on October 25 will introduce a new chapter in the Zombies saga, as revealed in the latest trailer from Activision and Treyarch.

This installment, titled “Requiem for a Lost Soul,” continues the Dark Aether storyline, linking the events from Black Ops Cold War.

The new trailer focuses on the Requiem team, which includes Grigori Weaver, Mackenzie “Mac” Carver, Elizabeth Grey, Oskar Strauss, and Stoney Maddox (Raptor One).

These characters, previously imprisoned at the Terminus outpost in the Philippine Sea, stage a dramatic breakout with the help of two new allies, Maya Aguinaldo and Dr. William Peck. This escape, however, coincides with another chaotic zombie outbreak, setting the stage for intense gameplay.

The storyline resumes over five years after the events of Black Ops Cold War. Following Agent Samantha Maxis’s sacrifice to close the final dimensional portal, Edward Richtofen, the project director, arrested the Requiem team members. Now, having been incarcerated at the remote Terminus outpost, these characters have undergone significant changes both mentally and physically.

The cinematic trailer also gives a glimpse into the upcoming gameplay and character dynamics, building anticipation for the full gameplay breakdown scheduled for August 8. According to Activision’s blog, this detailed overview by developer Treyarch will cover pre-match preparation options, Round-Based Zombies gameplay, and a bestiary of the undead.

In addition to the chaos at Terminus, the trailer hints at another zombie outbreak in the West Virginian town of Liberty Falls.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. It will also be a day-one release on Game Pass, though not available on the subscription service’s revised basic tier.

In other Call of Duty news, sources have recently revealed the game’s HQ app may see a significant file size reduction on the PS5, cutting over 100GB.
