The ultimate goal is to achieve one of multiple victory conditions. Previous examples include Cultural Victory, Science Victory, Domination Victory, and more.
Civilization 7 gameplay will be turn-based and allow you to build up and conquer the world over the course of decades. If Civ 7 leaders follow their predecessors footsteps then we could see famous faces such as Cleopatra, Abraham Lincoln, Gandhi, Genghis Khan, and Queen Victoria return. This series has a reputation for melding together eras of real-world history, in a playful way.

While the Civ 7 release window was vague, stating 2025 at the earliest, the latest news from Gamescom has given us the proper date, and thankfully, we do not have to wait long.
The confirmed Civilization 7 release date is February 11, 2025, which means there’s only a handful of months until you’ll get to play the latest installment in the long-running franchise. It comes out a staggering near-nine years after the previous entry, Civ 6, marking the longest gap seen to date since it began over 30 years ago.

One of the biggest pieces of Civilization 7 news is that, for the first time in the franchise’s history, Civ 7 will be released on PC and consoles simultaneously. You can play it on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Civilization 7 Trailers
Rather than a full Civ 7 trailer, we only have a teaser trailer for now. This is a pure CGI trailer that pans through various battles in history. While it did at least give us the potential Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 release date (or window), that’s about all we got.
While the teaser showed promise, it didn’t exactly deliver the goods. Enter the freshly showcased Gameplay Reveal Trailer which goes far more in-depth about Civilization 7’s gameplay and graphics. This includes a look at the new art style, which appears to be more of a grounded take than the more cartoonish look of its predecessor.
Civilization 7 Price
Confirmed starting price of $70
As expected, the Civilization 7 price tag follows the industry standard of $70 for the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S release. However, the Nintendo Switch version will retail at $60. The standard edition can be pre-ordered on PC and console through either Steam or Epic Games and the respective PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo online stores.
Fans wanting a more premium experience can pre-order the Civilization 7 Deluxe Edition for $100 on current-generation consoles (or $90 on Nintendo Switch), which comes with the Crossroads of the World Collection, the Deluxe Content Pack, and the Tecumseh and Shawnee Pack pre-order bonus.
That’s not all, though. There’s also the Civilization 7 Founders Edition for $130 ($120 on Nintendo Switch), which includes everything mentioned so far, along with the Right to Rule Collection (including six DLC packs expected by September 2025). You’ll also get access to the Founders Content Pack, too.
Lastly, for the ultimate Civ fan, there’s the Civilization 7 Collector’s Edition for a staggering $280, which includes the “Passage of Time” Decorative Clock, Scout Figure, Logo Pin, Challenge Coin, Postcards, Art Prints, and Yield Icon Patch Set.

The latest Civ 7 news is that the game has officially been given a release date of February 2025, as announced at Gamescom 2024. Furthermore, we now know the pricing, active pre-orders are live, and there will be four editions of the game.
