DAB Motors, a French boutique electric motorcycle manufacturer that was purchased by Peugeot Motorcycles last year, has revealed its latest custom creation that celebrates the iconic sci-fi film Back to the Future.
Unveiled on November 5th, the date when time travel is first explored by Doc Brown and Marty McFly in the iconic movie, the one-of-one 1a machine features stainless steel bodywork, exposed wiring and even a fake flux capacitor in an unrestrained celebration of the DeLorean DMC-12 that’s used to bend the very fabric of time in Robert Zemeckis’ seminal ‘80s movie.
Dig further and the Back to the Future references keep coming, with a speedometer that’s capped at 88MPH (when this baby hits 88 miles per hour…), as well as “DBMC” side badges that are expertly crafted to look like the original DMC logos.

While DAB’s ‘standard’ 1a is already for sale, limited to just 400 units and costing €14,900 (around $16,000), the ‘OUTTATIME’ two-wheeler is a bespoke creation that is designed to demonstrate the company’s flair for original design.
Founded by French bike builder Simon Dabadie, DAB Motors aims to shake up the electric motorcycle market with streetwear-inspired creations that make use of the latest EV technology.
The bike itself uses a 11kW motor that draws power from a 7.1kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Electric range is pegged at around 93 miles, similar to the recently announced Royal Enfield Flying Flea, while the 275.6lbs weight and 290.4ft/lb of torque at the rear wheel equate to a lively riding experience.

Having previously collaborated with Burberry, fashion label Becane and clothing designer David Koma, DAB Motors is keen to highlight the work of its Custom Studio, which allows customers to “infuse their DAB with a unique identity”.
On the subject of his latest DeLorean-inspired creation, DAB Motors founder Dabadie said the new bike is “an ideal canvas to showcase DAB Motor’s commitment to creativity and craftsmanship.”
Those pining after a little Marty McFly spirit on their morning commute will have to join a waiting list and if accepted, be prepared to part with upwards of €30,000 (around $32,000) for the chance to own one.
