The second instalment of EA Sports’ new-look soccer title, EA FC 25 release date is right around the corner. As is always the case with EA’s sports titles, there’s a lot of hype and anticipation surrounding the gameplay, trailers, news, and more.
Last year, EA cut ties with its long-time partner FIFA and released EA FC 24, its first soccer game release separate from the FIFA title and brand. This instalment saw some of the most significant changes, improvements, and additions to the game in some time. Players will be eager to see what EA FC 25 features and gameplay improvements await with the release of the hotly anticipated soccer sim.
To answer the questions that EA FC 25 players are asking, here’s all the information surrounding the game, from its release date to the new features added—all the need-to-know information right here—right now.
EA FC 25 Release Date
The official EA FC 25 release date is confirmed for September 27, 2024. That doesn’t come as a surprise since EA has a tradition of releasing its soccer titles on the last Friday of September.
EA’s yearly football game release is one of the most anticipated events in sports gaming, and most players can’t wait for the general release date. These players would prefer to get the game earlier than most, which is where early access comes in. That’s because the initial EA FC 25 release date is September 20, 2024 for those who pre-order the Ultimate Edition, but more on that further down the page.

EA FC 25 Pre-Orders
EA FC pre-orders are available now on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam, and the Nintendo eShop. Pre-orders for the Standard and Ultimate Edition are also available on all platforms.
There are many EA FC pre-order bonuses to take advantage of ahead of release — which is coming sooner rather than later.
From the EA FC 25 trailers, we learned eager players can pre-order the Ultimate Edition version of the game and get it seven days earlier than everyone else – as early access begins on September 20, 2024.
For those who with an EA FC 25 pre-order for the Standard Edition, you will not get early access, but you will receive:
EA FC 25 Price
As expected from a flagship release in 2024, the EA FC 25 price follows a similar pattern to previous instalments. The standard edition costs $70. For that price, you can get the base EA FC 25 features with some bonuses if you pre-order.
For $100, you can get the Ultimate Edition of the game. That includes several bonuses you can’t get from pre-ordering the Standard Edition — as touched upon above. It is worth noting that the ultimate edition is a digital-only product and is not available as physical media on any platform, which is disappointing.

EA FC 25 Platforms
Confirmed EA FC 25 platforms are the Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC via Steam, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. That means regardless of which system you game on, you’ll be able to experience all that FC 25 offers.
With that said, those on current-generation consoles and PC are going to have the definitive experience thanks to enhanced graphics and overall fidelity. Traditionally, previous-generation versions and football sims on the Nintendo Switch have been lacking in comparison.
EA FC 25 Trailers
Three EA FC 25 trailers have been released, the first one being the Official Reveal Trailer, which debuted on July 17, 2024. The first trailer is just over two minutes long and showcases the new graphical fidelity of this year’s entry. We see intense action on the field from both male and female soccer teams; there’s a focus on realism and physics, and this is evidenced in the close-ups of the ball, the goalkeeper, and the footwork.
The second EA FC 25 trailer is the Official Career Deep Dive, which is four and a half minutes in length and narrated by former American soccer player Mia Hamm. It states that “career mode in FC 25 is the most forward-thinking in FC history.” This is reflected in the fact that Women’s football has been introduced in career mode for the first time in the series’ long and storied history. You’ll be able to play through real-world matches in the Premier League table as they happen, including press events, transfers, and other facets of the beautiful game.
The final FC 25 trailer released to date is the 5v5 Rush Deep Dive. As the name implies, instead of the standard 11 vs 11 format, in this mode, you’ll play five aside in a smaller pitch for more intense action. This includes a reworked penalty shootout system and a revised Matchday experience. Through Rush Clubs, you’ll have a new club management system on top of this new gameplay loop.

What Is EA FC 25?
The latest soccer sim from EA Sports
EA FC 25 is the leading soccer simulator in gaming. For over 25 years, EA Sports had released its yearly football game under the FIFA name. However, it wasn’t until 2023 that it stepped away from that name (and the license) and rebranded as EA Sports FC. EA Sports FC 25 is the second release since the rebrand and separation from the FIFA name.
The EA FC 25 gameplay aims to simulate real-life football in the game. The game has several different game modes, gameplay features, and additional content for players to enjoy. Whether you are looking for a PvP experience or a solo career mode run, FC 25 players will get the best football/ soccer gaming experience available.
The Bottom Line
EA FC 25 showcases a more confident product than what we saw with last year’s soccer sim when EA broke away from the FIFA license. Armed with new gameplay modes, enhanced graphics and new physics, there’s a ton of new content which could make this year’s entry in the long-running franchise one of its best. Updates to career mode and Ultimate Team are welcome, as is the new 5v5 Rush mode for a slice of gameplay variety.
