Flappy Bird is coming back after 10 years on Android and iOS, along with versions for desktop and web browsers.

The Flappy Bird Foundation and Kek, the developer of Flappy Bird’s inspiration, Piou Piou vs. Cactus, announced on September 12th that the game will return to mobile platforms in 2025. It will become available for desktop and web browsers in October this year.

The Flappy Bird Foundation, which acquired the official trademark of the game from Gametech Holdings LLC, stated that the new version will feature new game modes, such as Flappy Bird EZ Mode, designed for players who want to build their skills before challenging pro players, and Flappy Bird Rivals, which puts the player against 99 other players. There will also be new characters – Peng, Quirky, Tekno, and Trixy.

The original Flappy Bird game was released back in 2013, and within a year, it became one of the most popular mobile games. The challenging gameplay, which involved tapping the screen to save the bird from hitting obstacles, made it extremely addictive. The game’s popularity can be seen by the fact that it was generating around $50,000 per day from in-app ads.

However, the game’s addictive nature was also the main reason its developer, Dong Nguyen, decided to remove it from app stores. In an interview with Forbes, Nguyen stated that the game had become too addictive, and the only solution he saw was to take it down from the app stores.
