Developer Epic Games has revealed that the Fortnite OG experience is “here to stay,” giving players the opportunity to “explore the OG map, collect OG loot, and relive OG seasons.”
THIS. IS. NOT. A. DRILL.
OG is coming BACK and is here to stay. Relive Battle Royale from the start and explore the OG map, collect OG loot, and relive OG seasons. Drop back in on December 6. pic.twitter.com/Zpg1CrItS5

The fact Epic mentions reliving original seasons suggests that the new OG mode could cycle through the game’s first ten seasons, giving gamers the opportunity to re-experience each one — or for new players to experience them for the first time.
Fortnite OG made a brief reappearance in November last year, when the blast from the past was a huge success. It led to the biggest day ever for the free-to-play game, with 44.7 million players in 24 hours, its highest-ever player count.
Way to start things off with a big bang 💥
We're blown away by the response to #FortniteOG. Yesterday was the biggest day in Fortnite’s history with over 44.7 MILLION players jumping in and 102 MILLION hours of play.
To all Fortnite players, OG and new, THANK YOU!

Though Epic had previously promised to revive Fortnite OG again this year, there was no word on what that would look like, until now. This time, OG mode is back for good, landing a few days after Fortnite Chapter 6. It arrives on December 1st and, if rumors are to be believed, could be themed around Japanese mythology.
EXCLUSIVE: Chapter 6 Season 1 will be themed around Samurais and Japanese Mythology. I know this has been rumored for a while, so I want to confirm it once in for all.

Nostalgia seems to be hitting hard this season, with this announcement coming just 24 hours after Blizzard revealed it was bringing Overwatch: Classic to the table, with a series of limited-time events taking players all the way back to the original game release in 2016.
Last month, Epic gave Fortnite Time Limit Controls to allow parents to limit their childrens’ gaming time. With the revival of OG mode, this could be a welcome feature for many parents.
