According to Snap Blast PLAY on X, Forza Horizon 5 has reached 40 million players.

Released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Game Pass in November 2021, the open-world racing sim is a clear success for Microsoft. We’ve seen two expansions so far, including Hot Wheels in July 2022 and Rally Adventures in March 2023.

Playground Games is preparing to delist Forza Horizon 4 at the end of 2024, so it’s no surprise that players are still flocking in droves to Forza Horizon 5. There were 35 million players in December 2023, and 37 million in February of this year.

Forza Horizon 5 Broke Xbox Game Studio Records

The game has always been a hit, attracting over three million players on launch day, a record-breaking figure for an Xbox Game Studios title at the time. Over 10 million players logged in during the game’s first week.

Recent updates to the game include Horizon Retrowave, with five retrofuturistic cars including a cool Hyundai fusing the best of past and present, synthwave station Horizon Wave with DJ Isabel Moss, and the retro-styled Neon Highway.

There’s also the vintage purple Retrowave Outfit, awarded to players who complete the Festival Playweek’s first-week photo challenge.

Despite focusing on the new upcoming Fable game, Playground is still providing plenty of fresh new content and updates for Forza Horizon 5, with the latest Modern Horizons update likely to attract more players to the open-world racing title.
