Google will now allow users to purchase refurbished Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series phones from the Google Store at up to a 40% discount off their original prices.
Google states that its technicians will carefully inspect these refurbished phones to ensure they are of the highest quality and feature like-new screens and batteries. The prices for the 128GB models of these refurbished phones are as follows:
- Pixel 6: $339 (originally $599)
- Pixel 6 Pro: $539 (originally $899)
- Pixel 6A: $249 (originally $449)
- Pixel 7: $429 (originally $599)
- Pixel 7 Pro: $629 (originally $899)
Google has not specified the prices for other storage variants, but it has confirmed that, similar to its new phones, it will offer the same one-year limited warranty and customer support options on these refurbished devices. While the company has not clarified details about the battery health of these refurbished phones, Google will likely follow Apple’s and Samsung’s practices of replacing the batteries in refurbished phones if needed.
The biggest concern when buying a refurbished phone from third-party platforms is that they often turn out to be damaged or have other serious issues. However, since the Pixel 6, Pixel 6A, and Pixel 7 will be officially available through the Google Store, users will have added confidence in receiving a better product.
Additionally, Google’s warranty and return policy will provide extra assurance, encouraging users to purchase these devices directly from the Google Store rather than from third-party refurbishers, even though the latter may offer slightly lower prices.
