Leaked images and details of the Pixel Watch 3 suggest Google may stick to a similar design, although there have been rumors of a larger model.
If renders from OnLeaks and 91Mobiles are accurate, the circular Wear OS smartwatch will remain largely unchanged outside of a slightly thicker (but overall smaller) case and a marginally higher-capacity 307mAh battery.
The standard Pixel Watch 3 would still include a 1.2-inch screen, although the bezels might be thinner this time. The sensor array appears unchanged.
This suggests the biggest upgrade may be less about design and more about choices. As 9to5Google sources claimed in March, Google is reportedly planning a larger 45mm Pixel Watch 3 alongside the standard 41mm version. The dimensions might allow for a bigger battery, but this would mainly be an aesthetic choice for people with thicker wrists or simply a preference for big smartwatches.
Google is unofficially expected to introduce the third-generation Pixel Watch alongside Pixel 9 series phones at an event in early fall, possibly in October.
The refresh could help Google compete against Apple and Samsung, both of whom have long had large smartwatch options. The Pixel Watch 3 is also expected to serve as a showcase for Wear OS 5, which gets significant upgrades to battery life and fitness.
