Google is rolling out a new video search feature for Google Lens that allows users to submit a video to Google and ask questions about it.
The new feature can be accessed by opening Google Lens on Android and pressing and holding the shutter button to record a video. In the video, the user needs to capture the object and ask questions related to it. If the user is in a region where AI overviews are enabled, they will receive an AI-generated answer to their question.
You can now send a video to Google to ask questions about it!

Google first announced the feature at its I/O event in May this year. The company stated that the video search feature would save users time and effort, as they wouldn’t need to find the right words to describe the issue they’re facing.
In my testing, I found that theGoogle video search feature works most of the time, but occasionally, it fails to recognize the object correctly. When I scanned my iPhone 13 and asked Google what device it was, the feature incorrectly identified it as an iPhone 11. This shows that while the feature is very helpful, it’s still imperfect — it serves as a reminder that AI features are still prone to errors and can make mistakes.
