Since its launch on Telegram in March 2024, Hamster Kombat has become one of the platform’s most popular crypto games, boasting over 300 million players.
As the game prepares for the highly anticipated HMSTR token airdrop on September 26, the transition into the next phase of rewards has been marred by controversy, as a substantial number of loyal players claim their accounts were unfairly flagged for cheating.
Hamster Kombat Interlude Season and Gameplay Adjustments
On September 20, Hamster Kombat took a season-ending snapshot of players’ progress, clearing the way for the developers to finalize airdrop allocations.
During this interlude season, many familiar features were temporarily disabled.
Dear CEOs 🐹,
The game DOES NOT end with the snapshot. We're now entering the Interlude Season of Hamster Kombat!

Some of the missing features include, in-game coins, the tap-to-earn function on the main screen, the long-standing crypto exchange upgrades and “Mine” menu.
In their place, players can earn in-game diamonds through various activities such as playing tap-to–earn games, inviting friends, following social media accounts, and watching official Hamster Kombat videos.
Adding to the complexity, the game’s developers have implemented an anti-cheating mechanism to ensure fairness in the airdrop.

Players caught using bots or other automated tools to gain an unfair advantage have already been penalized with a “Cheating is Bad” tag.
However, reports have emerged that many honest users, including loyal farmers, had their accounts flagged as cheaters, rendering them ineligible for the upcoming airdrop.
A tweet capturing the community’s frustration read: “Hamster Kombat done unfair with their loyal users; they blocklisted 60% of users without reason”
🚨 Attention Community! It's Time to Act! 🚨
Fellow players, we've been patient, but now it's time to stand up against the unfair practices of the Hamster Kombat (HK) team. Here's what's been happening:
1. 📱 Games flooded with low-quality ads
2. 🏆 Random "cheater"… pic.twitter.com/3REmNHsQUl— Pioneers (@CryptoPi0neers) September 22, 2024
Despite these concerns, developers have yet to clarify the specifics behind the anti-cheating strategy, leaving players in the dark about what led to the widespread flagging of accounts.
New Earn Program and Tokenomics
To further reward player engagement, Hamster Kombat will introduce a new Earn Program starting on September 24.
Hey CEOs!
🐹 We’re happy to announce that the total supply of $HMSTR tokens will be 100 billion coins.

The Earn program offers users the chance to earn up to 300% APY for a limited seven-day period by claiming their airdrop through the game’s Telegram wallet.
Notably, the HMSTR token will not be backed by venture capital or institutional investors, a deliberate choice by the developers to avoid sell pressure that could harm the token’s performance.
Hamster Combat team stated:
