HMD is working on a special edition Barbie Flip Phone, which was first showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona in February. The device is expected to feature Barbie’s iconic pink color scheme.
HMD is set to release the phone on August 28. While the company has not officially disclosed the handset’s specifications, it has reportedly been spotted on a China-based certification website ahead of time, hinting at several of them.

According to a report by MySmartPrice, the handset with model number TA-1681 has been spotted on China’s TENAA database. It is said to measure 108x55x18.9 and weighs 123g. The device is expected to be dual-tone pink.

The HMD flip phone is expected to sport dual displays. The primary display may be a 2.8-inch TFT screen with a resolution of 240×320 pixels. On the other hand, the device is expected to feature a 1.77-inch TFT outer screen with 128×160 pixels resolution. As per the listing, the device may be powered by a single-core processor clocked at 1.05GHz, along with 64MB RAM and 128MB of storage.
The phone may offer a microSD card option to expand storage by up to 32GB. The HMD Flip phone may also get a T9 QWERTY keyboard. As for cameras, the smartphone will reportedly feature a single rear camera with LED flash. The phone is expected to be backed by a 1,450mAh battery. As for connectivity, it may come with support for 4G LTE, dual-SIM capabilities, Bluetooth, and USB.
