Key details about the iPhone SE 4 have surfaced today.
The next-generation SE model from Apple was expected to be released earlier this year going by the two-year launch cycle. But it is now set to arrive early next year and for good reason, according to the latest report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
The iPhone SE 4 will launch as the successor to the iPhone SE 3 that debuted in 2022. Based on the information shared by Gurman, it will pack significant upgrades over its predecessor. Central to this is that the iPhone SE 4 will be capable of running Apple Intelligence. This means that the device will pack enough RAM along with the company’s latest silicon processor. Apple Intelligence is currently limited to the A17 Pro on last year’s iPhone Pro models and A18 SoC on the current-gen iPhone 16 lineup.
Another area where the iPhone SE 4 is going to be changed is in the design aspect. The next-generation offering will ditch the top and bottom bezels along with the iconic Touch ID found on its predecessor. This will provide a larger screen-to-body ratio. The SE 4 will also feature a modernized design like that of the recent iPhones. However, it will still have a notch instead of the dynamic island. The cutout will house Face ID. Rumors have it that the smartphone will come with an OLED display instead of an LCD panel.
Gurman also notes that new iPad Air in 11 and 13in variants will arrive next year with internal improvements alongside the iPhone SE 4. Apple could also release a new Magic Keyboard for both models packed with features found on the iPad Pro.
