The Metal Gear Solid series has been dormant in recent years, especially after the departure of the series creator, Hideo Kojima, in 2015. The franchise was mostly left to wither away. In 2023, the company saw the error of its ways, announcing this remake as well as Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1, which includes MGS 1, 2, 3, and the first two Metal Gear games. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Pre-orders
Although no firm release date is yet to be confirmed, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater pre-orders are available now physically. Konami has revealed two editions you can pre-order right now.
The Tactical Edition for $69.99 nets you the game in a physical box, available for both Sony PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. There’s also a Collector’s Edition, but it’s currently out of stock. This may change, however, when the official Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater release date is finally announced, but we imagine supplies will be limited.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Price
From the official Amazon listing, the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Solid Snake price is the industry standard $69.99. This will likely be the same pricing model seen on the digital editions of the game available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam, too. It’s not too surprising given it’s a title coming out in the ninth console generation, where the prices have increased.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Platforms
The confirmed Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater platforms are PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This rules out previous-generation consoles such as the Xbox One and PS4, and the Nintendo Switch, too. It’s not too big a shock factoring in that the remake uses Unreal Engine 5, arguably the most intensive game engine on the market right now, but it may be disappointing to those on older hardware.
Unfortunately, no Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater system requirements are available yet, so we are unable to gauge the kind of hardware your PC will need to run the game. Given the level of graphical fidelity on display, we would not be surprised to see recommended specs at the higher end of the spectrum, such as an RTX 3080 or a newer card like an RTX 4070.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Trailers
When the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater announcement happened on May 2023 at the PlayStation Showcase, there was the first trailer to herald it.
It was a Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater teaser, showcasing the foliage of the woodlands and the different animals and insects that plague the setting of the game, as well as The End’s green parrot. Eventually, the camera flies down and hones in on Naked Snake, with the game’s theme song, ‘Snake Eater’, bellowing out.
Another Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater trailer was released in October 2023, showing off the gameplay and modern graphics and further enforcing the fact that Delta would be a 1:1 remake, not a reimagining like Resident Evil 2 from 2019.
Fast forward to the Xbox Showcase in June 2024, where a new trailer revealed additional Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater gameplay. Here, it’s revealed that the player can switch between the classic control scheme from the original MGS3 or a modern one that resembles the one seen in MGS V: The Phantom Pain.
In addition, the game will feature a third-person camera that follows Snake, lifted directly from Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, an enhanced version of the original, released in 2005. That means you’ll have a variety of ways to play which should remain faithful to the original game while adding in modern conveniences for those who want them.

You traverse across a lush forest and various army strongholds to hunt, avoid, and kill enemies that may get in your way, thanks to the tools, weapons, and stealth camouflage you collect throughout the game.
Any cuts or injuries can be managed through its iconic ‘Cure’ system, which allows players to use various methods, like applying medicine and bandages to Snake’s body. For Delta, some of these injuries will stay throughout the game, adding to the realism that the developers want to preserve.
