Binance is preparing to release “Moonbix“, a new play-to-earn (P2E) game on Telegram‘s Mini App.
The confirmation came after leaked screenshots of the game started circulating on X before any official announcement.
On Tuesday, Binance acknowledged the leak and responded via its support team on X and the company’s announcement channel.
“We’re aware that our upcoming Telegram mini-app game, Moonbix, was leaked ahead of the planned launch date,” the team stated, adding that they are fine-tuning the game to enhance the user experience.
Binance also warned about impersonators trying to exploit the situation, sharing links to the official announcement channels.
The exchange added, “We apologize for any inconvenience and are reviewing individual cases for users affected.”

Videos and screenshots of the game suggest that Moonbix resembles traditional gold mining games. Set in space, the game allows players to control a spaceship equipped with a claw-like manipulator to collect scattered items, including yellow stones and gifts.
“You have 45 seconds per turn to collect gold nuggets — big ones earn 50 points, small ones 30,” X user Hamster Kombat Daily Combo said in a recent post while sharing a video of the gameplay.

Similar to other Telegram mini-games, social tasks and inviting friends provide additional bonuses. In the case of Moonbix, users also need to create and connect a Binance account.
Notably, Binance has published a set of Terms and Conditions for the Moonbix game. For one, the game is only available to “users from eligible regions” who have also completed Know Your Client (KYC).
So far, the Moonbix official announcement channel has attracted more than 1 million subscribers, and its official Telegram bot has over 15,000 monthly users.
Binance Invests in Tap-To-Earn Game Catizen
The launch of Moonbix comes as Binance has already made a foray into the world of Telegram gaming. In July, Binance Labs, the $10 billion venture capital and incubation arm of Binance, invested an undisclosed sum in Pluto Studio, the publisher of the popular Telegram game Catizen.
More recently, Binance also listed Catizen as the 59th project on Binance Launchpool, enabling users to earn $CATI tokens through airdrops by locking BNB and FDUSD.
The farming period for the crypto started on September 16, 2024, and will last for four days.
Upon completion, the exchange will list CATI on September 20, 2024, offering trading pairs with USDT, BNB, FDUSD, and TRY. The seed tag will be applied to CATI.

Binance has also listed Hamster Kombat, which is considered the biggest crypto airdrop project in the tap-to-earn industry. Furthermore, it has listed other Telegram-based crypto projects like Notcoin, Dogs, and Toncoin.
The Bottom Line
Binance’s launch of its own Telegram mini-game comes as the exchange has shown support for tap-to-earn games by listing them and adding them to its launchpad.
While Binance’s Moonbix has yet to prove a success, the game enjoyed a splashy debut, with its announcement channel attracting more than 1 million users in a matter of 24 hours.
