The Motorola Edge 50 Neo smartphone has launched in India today, as the successor to last year’s Edge 40 Neo.

The latest offering is also the fifth addition in the Edge 50 series that includes the standard, ultra, pro, and fusion models. The Edge 50 Neo comes with significant upgrades compared to its predecessor. 

Beginning with the display, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo has a 6.4in curved pOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate. There is 3,000 nits peak brightness for better visibility in outdoor environments. The display is equipped with a fingerprint scanner and also layered with Gorilla Glass 3.

In terms of design, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo features MIL-STD 810H military-grade durability that can withstand tough conditions, accidental drops, and shocks. The device is also IP68-certified water resistant. It has a flat frame and a raised squarish camera module on the back panel that flaunts a vegan leather finish in Pantone-curated colors. 

On the imaging front, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo sports triple rear cameras. The setup comprises a 50MP main Sony LYT-700C sensor with OIS. There is a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens that also doubles up as a macro shooter and a 10MP telephoto unit with 3x zoom. Up front, there is a 32MP snapper for selfies. Both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording. Google Photos offers AI features like a magic eraser, photo unblur, magic editor, and more. 

Performance-wise, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. It packs 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. A 4,310mAh  battery unit fitted inside with support for 68W wired and 15W wireless charging. Software-wise, the smartphone runs on Android 14 and is confirmed to get five years of OS updates and security patches. 

The Motorola Edge 50 Neo retails at Rs 23,999 for the sole 8GB + 256GB variant. It comes in Nautical Blue, Latte, Grisaille and Poinciana colors. The smartphone can be purchased from Flipkart, the brand’s website, and retail stores starting September 24.
