Samsung continues launching affordable versions of its flagship smartphones in the Fan Edition range. Currently, the work is underway on the Galaxy S24 FE.
According to a Galaxy Club report, the Galaxy S24 FE is in progress under the project name R12. This is consistent with the Korean tech giant’s previous naming convention.
Earlier FE devices had the same coding: the S20 FE was R8, the S21 FE was R(, and the S23 FE was R11.
There was an S211 FE named R10, but this handset was never released after initial development.
Samsung introduced its high-end Galaxy S24 series in January. Back then, the following models were released:
- Galaxy S24
- Galaxy S24+
- Galaxy S24 Ultra
Preorders for Samsung's Galaxy S24 series start today on January 17, with availability from January 31.

What Is Samsung FE?
In recent years, the FE version has hit the market within around six months of the main launch. Still, it appears consumers will need to wait a while longer for the more affordable Galaxy S series phone.
The indication is for an entry for the S24 FE at the end of this year, with Samsung currently facing some production issues overall. This means some regions will not see the new release until early 2025.
Galaxy A35 Also Became Cheaper
In other Samsung news, the arrival of the Galaxy A35 gives enthusiasts in the US a new accessible option.
The American model starts at $399 and will be available in lilac and navy blue colorways through Samsung, carriers, and stores. The mid-range phone was available in other regions earlier this year.
