Nintendo has unveiled a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which will launch next month on the Nintendo Switch.

The trailer, published earlier today on YouTube, provides a comprehensive overview of Hyrule’s landscapes, introducing players to the central plateau, the arid Gerudo Desert, the treacherous Eldin Volcano, and the lush Faron Wetlands, among other regions.

In a franchise first, players will embark on their journey as Princess Zelda herself (with Link only playing a secondary part). The game introduces several new mechanics and abilities. Notably, Zelda will be able to use the Tri Rod to create “echoes,” which are imitations of objects or creatures in the environment.

These echoes can be employed to solve puzzles, combat enemies, and assist in various challenges throughout Hyrule.

The trailer also highlights two unique abilities: Bind and Reverse Bond. Bind will enable Zelda to move objects by tethering them to her movements, which can help uncover hidden paths or reposition obstacles.

Reverse Bond, on the other hand, will allow Zelda to follow the movements of creatures or objects, providing innovative ways to navigate the terrain, such as temporarily taking to the skies by linking with a flying creature.

Players will also be able to take advantage of travel Waypoints scattered across the map, facilitating quick travel between discovered locations. Additionally, Zelda’s trusty steed will play a crucial role in fast travel. The trailer shows mounts will be capable of jumping over obstacles and even defeating weaker enemies.

Hyrule’s inhabitants, struggling with various issues, will seek Zelda’s help, and the Adventure Log will aid players in tracking quests and tasks. Moreover, Business Scrubs’s smoothie shops will allow players to blend ingredients for health-boosting drinks while equipping different outfits and accessories, which can enhance Zelda’s abilities and change her appearance.

Pre-orders for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom are available now, and a special gold-colored Nintendo Switch Lite Hyrule Edition console, adorned with the Hylian Crest, will also be released on the same day.
