Nothing is poised to announce its first-ever open earbuds, possibly called the Ear Open.
The London-based brand has been dropping cryptic teasers on its X handle. Today, the company revealed that it’s launching its upcoming product on Tuesday, September 24th.
Nothing hasn’t explicitly revealed what it is going to unveil. However, according to recent reports, it’s expected that the upcoming device will be open earbuds. In recent times, this segment has been gaining traction with the likes of the Sony LinkBuds, Huawei Freeclip, and Bose Ultra Open.

Nothing’s announcement post on X has a tagline that reads ‘Out in the open’. The teaser video reveals two white loops. This indeed hints at the brand’s open ear buds. The upcoming offering is rumored to be called the Nothing Ear Open.
As the name suggests, the audio device will feature an open-ear design compared to traditional true wireless earbuds, increasing awareness of their surroundings. They’re potentially ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who don’t want to cut off the outside world or rely on transparency modes.
More details about Nothing’s upcoming product could be revealed in the days leading up to the launch event. Previously, the Nothing Ear Open had received IMDA certification that apparently confirmed its moniker.
It remains to be seen if the brand will adopt its signature transparent design in the upcoming offering. A Nothing Community member shared a concept image of the Ear Open with the earbuds portion looking similar to the company’s past models.
