OnePlus has officially revealed the launch timeline of its flagship OnePlus 13.
The company’s China President Louis Lee shared an announcement post on Weibo that strongly hinted at the arrival of the next-generation flagship device. Lee did not explicitly mention the name of the smartphone, but the details point to it being the OnePlus 13. It is set to arrive as the successor to the OnePlus 12 that debuted last year.
In his Weibo post Lee stated that the company’s new flagship product will be launched next week. It will be powered by a new chipset that will enable the device to deliver unprecedented performance. It is said to fully utilize self-developed dual-core architecture, expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Tech Summit takes place around mid-to-late October every year. So we can expect the OnePlus 13 to be unveiled shortly after the event. Lee also mentions that the upcoming device has achieved a 120Hz frame rate while playing Genshin Impact.
Regardless, the OnePlus 13 is arriving earlier than its predecessor, which did not debut until last December with the global launch following in January this year. Hence, the upcoming offering should first go official in its home country. Meanwhile, an as yet unannounced, global debut of the device in December could also be on the cards. This is deduction from past launches – a global release of the OnePlus number series flagship has followed a month after the China debut.
