A Pixel Buds Pro 2 leak from @MysteryLupin ahead of tomorrow’s Google event has revealed the new earbuds will purportedly feature Google’s “Tensor A1” chip.
The new chip will allegedly enable “twice the Active Noise Cancellation,” which is welcome news given that the strength of the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) was a common gripe for users of the first-gen Pixel Buds Pro.

– Conversation Detection
– Tensor A1 chip powers twice the Active Noise Cancellation
– Seamlessly connect with your Pixel (Watch, Tablet, Phone)

The leak also revealed that battery life may be slightly shorter. We can expect eight hours for the earbuds and 30 hours for the case, compared to 11 hours for the buds and 31 for the case for the first-gen buds. There’s a caveat, however. Regarding battery life with ANC on, it’s a battery life boost over the original Pixel Buds Pro. Otherwise, it’s a downgrade.
Fast Pair and Hearing Protection for Pixel Buds 2 Pro
Other elements of Google’s new earbuds mentioned in the leak include that they will “seamlessly connect with your Pixel”, mentioning phones, Watch, and Tablet. This is likely a reference to Fast Pair.
Finally, the new Pixel Buds app feature protects your hearing by tracking how loud you’re listening to music and advising you when to adjust the volume. This is alongside the new “twist-to-adjust” stabilizer that lets you “lock your earbuds in” when working out or on the go.
Made by Google Upcoming
Rumors we’ve heard previously surrounding the Pixel Buds Pro 2 include some expected fun new colors, including Raspberry (pink) and Mojito (green), an identical charging case, and the potential for higher pricing.
With the Pixel Buds Pro 2 set to land at tomorrow’s Made by Google event alongside the Pixel 9 series and Pixel Watch 3, we’ll need to wait to see if these rumors are true.
