A recent error on the PlayStation Store has led to speculation about a possible PC port of the popular Rockstar game Red Dead Redemption.

The game’s PlayStation Store description was briefly updated to claim that it was “now on PC,” despite only being available on consoles since its 2010 release.

The updated description, spotted by X (formerly Twitter) user @Wario64, mentioned that the PC version would include “PC-specific enhancements,” such as higher resolutions, better frame rates, support for multiple displays, and improved spatial surround sound.

It also mentioned that the PC version would come with all single-player content from the Game of the Year Edition, including the Undead Nightmare expansion.

This isn’t the first time a potential PC release has been hinted at. In May 2024, a datamine of Rockstar Games’ website revealed mentions of a PC version of Red Dead Redemption. These hints, combined with the latest PlayStation Store update, suggest that a PC version might be on the way.

Rockstar Games has a history of staggering the releases of its games across platforms. For example, Grand Theft Auto V was released on PC a year after its initial launch on consoles in 2013. The upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI also has no confirmed PC release date (but the studio has just announced a console release date).

As the 15th anniversary of Red Dead Redemption approaches (May 2025), many PC gamers are hopeful that an official announcement about the game’s PC port is forthcoming.

However, at the time of writing, Rockstar Games has not confirmed any plans for a PC release, and the mention of a PC version has been temporarily removed from the PlayStation Store.

In other gaming news, the game studio behind the God of War series has recently been spotted working on a new intellectual property (IP).
