Sony is releasing a beta update for the PlayStation 5, including features like personalized 3D audio profiles, Remote Play settings, and adaptive controller charging.
While we’re still waiting for Sony to offer the ability to turn off Activity Cards, it’s releasing a new beta update for PS5 tomorrow with three new features. First, personalized 3D audio profiles are coming to the console. With this feature, you’ll be able to create a custom 3D audio profile that best suits your hearing preferences.
Your PS5 will run different sound tests to create an audio profile that matches your tastes. Once you have a profile you like, you’ll be able to better engage yourself in the games, such as easily detecting enemy positions.
The next feature Sony is rolling out in the beta update is the ability to manage the Remote Play settings. This setting will let you manually decide which users can access your PS5 console through Remote Play. This will be especially helpful in situations where someone has previously logged in to your PS5 console using their credentials, but you no longer want them to access your device.
Lastly, the update will also include the adaptive charging feature for DualSense, DualSense Edge wireless, PlayStation VR2 Sense, and Access controllers. However, unlike the above updates, which will be available for all PS5 models, the adaptive charging feature will only be available for the latest PS5 systems.
This feature will help you save power by adjusting the duration for which power is supplied to the controller when you’re not using the console. However, the controller’s battery level will play a vital role here – if the controller’s battery level is low, it will receive a continuous power supply.
Just like all previous beta updates, tomorrow’s update for PS5 will also be limited to invited participants in Canada, the US, Japan, the UK, Germany, and France. If you’re selected for beta update testing, you’ll receive an email notification when the update is available for download.
