Where to Pre-Order PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition
PS5 Pro pre-orders will be available exclusively through PlayStation Direct. Due to the high online traffic, you will be placed in a queue.
Players looking to purchase any of the PS5 30th edition consoles will need to have a PSN account when buying directly from PlayStation. You can sign in once you’ve passed the initial waiting room phase. However, these crucial few seconds could be the difference between securing a system and missing out.
We speculate that due to the strict number of units being sold, the consoles will be sold out fairly quickly and will only be available through online retailers after its launch on November 21, 2024.
PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition Expected Price
The PS5 Pro 30th anniversary edition price has yet to be revealed, but it will be known shortly. In the meantime, we can gather a rough estimate of its price.
The PS5 Pro price currently retails for $699.99 when bought directly from PlayStation. It is safe to assume that the 30th anniversary editions will cost more than this.
The bundle was sold for £959 at the UK launch earlier today. It is possible that the bundle price could match the UK’s RRP and be available for $959; however, it is more likely to cost over the $1,000 mark, but this is yet to be confirmed. Official bundle pricing is TBA.
PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition Features
Purchasing the PS5 Pro 30th anniversary limited edition bundle will include several items:
- PS5 Pro console with 2TB SSD, supporting Wi-Fi 7.
- DualSense wireless controller, DualSense Edge wireless controller, DualSense Charging Station, and a Console Cover for a Disc Drive (Disc Drive sold separately).
The PS5 Pro features include a bigger GPU for better graphics, 4K gaming and 8K support, 60-120 FPS, double the SSD storage, and PSSR AI upscaling. We’ve also compared PS5 Pro vs PS5, too.
Where to Order PS5 30th Anniversary Edition
The PS5 30th anniversary edition will be available in its own bundle separate from the PS5 Pro.
It will also become available to pre-order through PlayStation Direct.
While the consoles will initially only be available to pre-order through PlayStation Direct, it is possible that they will become available to pre-order through other retailers and from other sources online upon launch. This was the case with Australia, who had availability at other outlets, too. However, this is not confirmed.
PS5 30th Anniversary Expected Price
The PS5 30th Anniversary edition is rumored to retail for $499.99, an extra $50 compared to the original. This is based on information leaked by data miner Billbil-kun through Datalabs, who has a proven track record of leaking accurate information in the past.
This falls in line with Sony’s history with the previous PS4 console, which also launched a classic redesign for its 20th Anniversary and also retailed for $499 at launch.
The console bundle also launched in the UK for £433.99, and so the estimated price is expected to be between $449 and $549, with the latter figure looking most likely.
An official price has yet to be revealed, but we will update you once it has been announced.
PS5 30th Anniversary Edition Features
The PS5 slim digital edition console will be available through a limited time bundle, which includes several items.
- Limited edition PS5 Pro console with 2TB SSD and Wi-Fi 7 support.
- DualSense wireless controller and a Console Cover for a Disc Drive (Disc Drive sold separately).
The PS5 console includes 4K gaming and a HDR-capable GPU, an Ultra HD Blu-ay player, Tempest engine for 3D audio, and ray-tracing for enhanced graphics. Read how it compares to the PS5 Pro.
Players who purchase the PS5 will be able to play the best PS5 games on the console.
Where to Pre-order 30th Anniversary DualSense Controllers
The 30th anniversary DualSense will be available to pre-order separately as a standalone item, or as part of the PS5 and PS5 Pro bundles, through PlayStation Direct.
During the UK launch, the controller was available for £69.99, £10 more than the standard. Based on this, we can gauge a rough estimate that the price could be around $79.99, but this is unconfirmed at this time.
Where to Pre-order 30th Anniversary DualSense Edge Controllers
The 30th Anniversary DualSense Edge will be available to pre-order as a standalone item or part of the PS5 Pro bundle on the PlayStation Direct store.
The DualSense Edge will be more expensive than the original controller as it offers customizable rear pads, button remapping, and interchangeable joysticks. The controllers can even be customized on Windows.
The DualSense Edge was available during the UK launch at £219.99, £10 more than the standard edition. We can expect to see a similar increase for the US, from $199 to $209.99, but this is speculation.
Where to Pre-order 30th Anniversary PlayStation Portal

The PlayStation Portal 30th Anniversary edition can be pre-ordered as a standalone item through PlayStation Direct.
The PlayStation Portal price has yet to be confirmed, but we can expect it to be higher than the standard which costs $199.99. The UK launch saw it retail for £209.99, so the U.S price will be equivalent to or more than this. It may match the UK’s RRP at $209.99 or be north of this rate.
Due to its limited number of units, once it launches on November 21 alongside the other 30th anniversary products, it is unlikely to be available through common PlayStation Portal retailers such as Best Buy, Target, GameStop, and Amazon.
The latest PlayStation Portal update allows you to stream games on the go by connecting to public Wi-Fi. Read more about it here. However, you still need to run the games on your PS5 at home, so it’s not quite as portable as the Steam Deck’s native compatibility.
How to Pre-Order PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary
Here are our tips on how to secure a PS5 Pro 30th anniversary pre-order. Our Gaming Editor, Aleksha McLoughlin, used this method to secure a PS5 30th Anniversary console.
1. Login early
When you log in through PlayStation Direct, you will be placed in an online queue with potentially thousands of other users.
The UK launch saw the queues open at 8 AM BST (UTC +1) and the earliest entries at 10 AM. We can expect a similar time frame for the US release, and so we recommend logging in as early as 7.30 AM local time to ensure you are further up the queue.
2. Have your details ready
In order to make any purchases you’ll need to have your login details for your PlayStation Network account ready. If you do not have one, we recommend signing up beforehand or while you wait.
This is because you will not be able to make a purchase without one. In addition we also recommend having your payment details ready, including your shopping address, with either the details securely pre-saved or on hand.
3. Make the purchase on a PC
We recommend making the purchase on a desktop, laptop, or PC as opposed to a mobile device.
This is because it is essential you keep the page up in order to not lose your place in the line, and are less likely to experience any form of interference. You can have other tabs open and see to other responsibilities whilst you wait.
4. Make your choice beforehand
It is important to have a clear plan of what console or accessories you wish to add to your basket before making a payment. You have a choice between the PS5 Slim Digital Edition, and PS5 Pro, but you can also purchase additional DualSense controllers as well as the PlayStation Portal.
The longer you spend browsing through the products and making the decision, the less likely you will be to secure an item from the limited stock. During the UK launch, the PS5 Pro 30th anniversary edition bundle sold out in mere minutes, and the Slim edition in less than an hour. By following our advice, you increase the chances of securing your system of choice and avoiding disappointment.
What is PlayStation 30th Anniversary?
The PlayStation 30th Anniversary celebrates 30 years since the launch of the original PlayStation in December 1994 in Japan. The system was later sold on September 9, 1995, in America, and September 29, 1995, in Europe.
To commemorate the occasion, Sony released pre-orders for sets of PS5 30th anniversary edition consoles, controllers, and accessories – featuring the classic color scheme and original PlayStation logo.
PlayStation has traditionally celebrated its anniversary every 10 years, such as when it celebrated its 20th anniversary with a PS1-themed PlayStation 4 that, like the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary bundle, was sold in incredibly limited quantities worldwide.
The set brings a sense of nostalgia, although the items available are only different in aesthetics and are in no way more or less powerful than their standard counterparts.

The Bottom Line
The PlayStation 30th anniversary edition consoles feature a nostalgic makeover of the latest PS5 Pro and Slim consoles, along with DualSense controllers and a PlayStation Portal accessory.
The price of the 30th-anniversary editions has yet to be confirmed until their launch in the US, but it is safe to assume they could cost more than the standard range currently available.
The PlayStation 30th anniversary collection pre-orders will be available from September 26, 2024 at 10 AM but stock is limited due to Sony only selling 12,300 units in total. The consoles will then be shipped on November 21, 2024.
