Samsung has debuted the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+ as its first “AI tablets,” offering access to a plethora of Galaxy AI creative and productivity features.
Like its predecessor, the Tab S10 Ultra’s huge 14.6-inch AMOLED screen features a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth multitasking and gaming. It’s billed as bright enough for outdoor use, and has an anti-reflective treatment that cuts out glare.
The Tab S10+ packs a slightly smaller 12.4-inch OLED display with a 2,800 x 1,752 resolution and similar anti-reflective tech.
An Armor Aluminum build and IP68 rating gives both tablets a durable design. Samsung says they canan withstand being submerged in up to 1.5m of fresh water for up to 30 minutes.
A quad speaker setup and AI-powered Dialogue Boost ensures that voices during calls or in your favorite shows and movies are clear despite unwanted noise.
For the first time, both tablets have MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chips rather than Samsung’s own Exynos or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform. We’ll need to wait and see how this impacts performance, but the chip is designed for faster generative AI processing.
Both tablets also have a microSD card slot to expand storage, plus 45W fast charging. The Tab S10 Ultra packs a 11,200mAh battery while the Tab S10+ is powered by a 10,090mAh battery.
Samsung’s First Tablets Meant for AI
Galaxy AI is the standout feature for both tablets. The Tab S10 Ultra comes with the S Pen which works perfectly with Note Assist for note taking at home, school, or work.
There’s AI-powered automated multi-speaker transcription and summaries to make light work of capturing meetings.
Air Command with AI on the S Pen provides instant access to Galaxy AI Assistant. There’s also Sketch to Image, so anything you sketch on the expansive display is easily transformed into a picture.
PDF Overlay Translation translates PDFs from a huge range of languages via an on-screen overlay, while Handwriting Help tidies up handwritten notes scribbled down during meetings or brainstorming sessions.
Other Galaxy AI features worthy of mention include Circle to Search, which lets you search for most anything without leaving the app or page you’re on. You can also translate any image, text, or video. The feature can even identify and provide step-by-step solutions to math and physics problems.
The Galaxy Tab S10 Series Double as Galaxy Home AI Devices
You can even use your Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra or S10+ as a Galaxy Home AI device. Check the status of your SmartThings-enabled devices via the widget on the large screen, or monitor energy consumption in your home with SmartThings Energy and AI Energy Mode.
Privacy also plays a role. With the Tab S10 series you’re in control of your data thanks to Advanced Intelligence, which lets you disable online data processing to keep data on-device. There’s also the typical Knox real-time threat detection and collaborative protection.
Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+ Specs
Samsung says the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra packs over an 18% increase in CPU performance, a 14% increase in AI-related NPU speed, and a 28% increase in GPU power compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.
The Galaxy Tab S10+’s performance upgrades include a 16% increase in CPU, 13% increase in NPU, and 27% increase in GPU and 13% compared to the Galaxy Tab S9+.
