Thanks to AI Playlist beta, Spotify Premium subscribers in selected regions can now create playlists with a simple text prompt.
This new AI function creates playlists without the need for users to manually curate tracks, making them great for road trips, house moves, study sessions, or date nights.
The feature was first introduced in April for Spotify Premium subscribers in the UK and Australia. To date, users have created millions of playlists.
Users type a text prompt into the chat, such as “romantic 80s playlist for dinner at home” or “upbeat 90s pop music for my road trip.” The more specific the prompt, the better the results.
Listeners can add a mix of moods, genres, decades, or artists. There’s also the option to reference movie characters, activities, locations, colors, animals, or emojis. Safety measures are in place to prohibit the use of offensive prompts.
Once you’ve perfected your prompt, Spotify creates a personalized playlist to match the desired vibe. You can preview the playlist to edit and refine it by typing additional prompts or delete any tracks that you don’t like.
