Stardew Valley’s huge 1.6 update finally has a release date for consoles and mobile platforms.
According to the game’s creator, Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone, the update will be available on November 4, 2024.
This version, 1.6.9, will bring several new content and quality-of-life improvements to players on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile devices following its PC release earlier this year.
The 1.6 update, which launched on PC in March 2024, introduces over 500 changes to the beloved farming simulator. These include new festivals, expanded NPC dialogue, additional pets with unique behaviors, hundreds of new items, and visual upgrades.
This update marks a long-awaited opportunity for console players to refresh their virtual farms with new content. One of the highlights is the introduction of two fishing festivals and a ticket machine in Lewis’ house.
Writing on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Barone has noted that while most of the new features can be experienced with existing save files, starting a new game may offer a richer experience, particularly as some new content is designed to unfold differently in the early stages of gameplay.

The update’s delayed console release was due to Barone’s practice of first releasing updates on PC as a form of “beta testing” to catch potential bugs. With this release, Barone said he hopes to shift his focus back to his next project, Haunted Chocolatier, which has been on hold while he worked on this update.

In other sim game news, EA has recently released The Sims 4 2024 roadmap, which includes a Grim Reaper expansion.
