Developer Nacon has announced a significant delay for its upcoming open-world co-op game, Terminator: Survivors.
Initially slated for an Early Access release on October 24, the game will now launch sometime in 2025, according to a statement made on the studio’s official Twitter account. The studio cited a need for additional development time to meet fans’ expectations and ensure the game delivers the quality experience the franchise deserves.

In a statement on Monday, Marco Ponte, the CEO and creative director of Nacon, explained that the decision to delay the game was challenging but necessary for its development. He mentioned that deferring the game’s release was a tough choice, but he believed the additional time would allow them to ensure their vision of the post-apocalyptic world of Terminator met the expected level of quality.
Gameplay-wise, Terminator: Survivors will enable players to navigate an open world infested with Skynet’s machines. Players will have to scavenge for resources, build a base, and fend off relentless attacks, either solo or in co-op with up to three other players. The game will emphasize teamwork and strategy as players work together to rebuild humanity.
This delay in the game’s launch follows the recent release of additional details and a trailer in March, which highlighted a unique setting and timeline.
As shown in the trailer, the game unfolds after the apocalyptic events of Judgment Day, yet before John Connor establishes his resistance group. This unexplored era of the Terminator universe promises both familiar characters and new faces, offering an original storyline that explores the origins of John Connor’s resistance.
While fans will have to wait longer for Terminator: Survivors, the delay aims to ensure the game lives up to the high expectations set by the iconic franchise.
