WhatsApp has launched an all-new feature that will allow users to customize their video calls.
The announcement was shared by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on his WhatsApp channel. The company has introduced 10 new filters such as Warm, Cool, Black & White, Light Leak, and more. Additionally, many new background options have been added such as Blur, Living Room, Office, Cafe, Pebbles, Forest, and more. The new filters and backgrounds for video calls can be used for both one-on-one and group video calls.

According to Meta, these filters are designed to create a more engaging and artistic atmosphere. The backgrounds will allow users to maintain privacy by simulating environments like cozy cafes or living rooms for a cleaner, polished appearance.
It is important to note that WhatsApp has recently started rolling out the feature and it should be available for more users in the coming weeks.
How to use WhatsApp’s new feature
- Open WhatsApp on your device.
- Place a video call with the desired contact.
- Click on the effects icon located in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Browse and select your preferred filters or background effects.
