You Can Now Filter Bot Replies on X: Here’s How

Why Trust Techopedia
Key Takeaways

  • X now lets users sort replies to find comments of interest more easily.
  • Users can choose from three options to sort comments on a post.
  • The feature began rolling out this weekend.

X is introducing new options to sort comments in a post based on your preference.

One of the biggest turn-offs for X, formerly known as Twitter, is its comment section. Whenever you access a post’s comment section, there’s a high chance you’ll be greeted with spam comments from verified accounts. And since X prioritizes comments from verified accounts over those from regular accounts, you’ll see these spam comments before the genuine ones you actually want to read.

Well, that has now changed. X has made it easier to find comments that actually matter in a post. Now, when you access a post’s comment section, you can sort comments based on your preference. You can choose between the most relevant, most recent, or most liked comments.

The “recent” and “liked” sorting methods are understandable, but there’s no information on how X will determine which comments are relevant to the post when you select the “relevant” sorting option.

Also, it’ll be interesting to see how this change impacts the X Premium user base, as X used to show comments from Premium accounts at the top. But now, with the new sorting methods, this Premium benefit has become less valuable.

That said, the change has already started rolling out; if you haven’t seen it yet on your account, don’t worry; it will be available on your device soon.
