YouTube is testing a new feature called Brainstorm with Gemini that helps you brainstorm video ideas, titles, and thumbnails.
Back in May, YouTube released a feature called the Inspiration Tool that helps you find video ideas based on what your audience likes to watch. This tool suggests video ideas and even provides an outline to get you started. Now, YouTube is testing the Brainstorm with Gemini feature to complement the Inspiration Tool.
The Brainstorm with Gemini feature works similarly to the Inspiration Tool but adds the power of Gemini. This means the new feature uses Google’s own generative AI model, Gemini, to brainstorm video ideas for you. You can also use it to create catchy titles and get suggestions for the best thumbnail for your video.
If you want to use the Brainstorm with Gemini feature, you need to go to your YouTube Studio and type out a video idea in the search bar. Then, you’ll be presented with two options – using the Brainstorm with Gemini feature or the Inspiration tool. The only thing you need to remember here is that both features are pretty similar, except the new one has added Gemini support.
The introduction of this new feature doesn’t make much sense. If YouTube wanted to introduce Gemini, it could have simply integrated it into the Inspiration Tool instead of launching an entirely new feature that serves the same purpose.
That said, a YouTube spokesperson told TechCrunch that this feature is currently available to a limited number of users. The company is waiting for user feedback before deciding whether to roll it out more broadly.
