Key Takeaways

  • YouTube multiview is now available on Android phones and tablets.
  • You can watch up to four sports streams at once.
  • iPhone and iPad owners have had the feature since March.

YouTube TV now supports multiview streaming on Android phones and tablets.

As on other platforms, the feature lets you watch up to four streams at once. You can keep track of multiple sports matches without having to switch between them.

You don’t have full control over the eligible channels, however. YouTube TV bundles all the streams into one, so you’ll have to choose from a selection of curated multiview options. The company said it hopes to “improve flexibility and introduce more options” going forward.

Multiview came to YouTube TV on the iPhone and iPad in March this year. The basic feature has been available since March 2023.

The option isn’t unique to YouTube’s cable replacement service. Apple TV received a similar option for sports viewing in May of last year. NBCUniversal’s Peacock, meanwhile, will offer a four-stream option during the Summer Olympics in Paris. Some of these are more advanced and feature four distinct, customizable streams.

Nonetheless, the multiview addition is welcome if you’re an Android user who subscribes to YouTube TV. This helps you keep up on particularly busy game days where one or more matches are active, even if you can’t be home.
