A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, the Blackberry operating system controlled half the U.S. smartphone market. Now, Android and iPhone control 90 percent of this market, which means that most developers now concentrate on one or both of these platforms. According to comScore Mobilens data from December 2012, Android now holds 53 percent of total market share, while iPhone sits at 36 percent.
